How to Prepare Jowar Puttu
Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Joyita Jowar Puttu Mix
  • ¼ to ½ cup water (as needed)
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated coconut (as preferred)

Preparation Steps:


Moisten the Flour:
Take the Jowar Puttu Mix in a wide bowl.
Sprinkle water little by little while mixing with your fingers until the flour turns slightly moist and crumbly.
The right texture is when it holds shape when pressed but breaks apart easily. Add a pinch of salt to taste.

Add Grated Coconut (Optional):
Mix in 2–3 tablespoons of fresh grated coconut to enhance flavor and softness.

Steam the Mixture:

Fill the base of a puttu maker or steamer with water and bring to a boil.

In the cylindrical puttu maker, layer 1 tablespoon of grated coconut first, then add the moistened flour, and repeat as needed.

Steam for 7–10 minutes or until the aroma rises and the puttu is cooked through.

Serve Hot:
Serve hot with banana and jaggery, kadala curry, or any side of your choice.
