How to Prepare Jowar Rava (Dalia) Upma
Ingredients:

1 cup Jowar Rava (Dalia)

2½ to 3 cups Water

1 Onion (finely chopped)
-
1–2 Green Chillies (slit)
-
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
-
1 tsp Urad Dal
-
1 tsp Chana Dal
-
Curry Leaves – a few
-
1 tsp Grated Ginger
-
Salt – to taste
-
1–2 tbsp Oil or Ghee
-
Optional: Mixed vegetables (carrot, peas, beans), coriander leaves
Steps:

Dry roast Jowar Rava in a pan on medium flame for 4–5 minutes until aromatic. Set aside.

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add urad dal and chana dal and sauté until golden.

Add green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, and chopped onion. Sauté until onions turn soft.

(Optional) Add chopped vegetables and sauté for 2–3 minutes.

Add water and salt. Bring it to a boil.

Slowly add roasted Jowar Rava, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Cover and cook on low flame for 8–10 minutes until the rava is cooked and water is absorbed.

Fluff gently, garnish with coriander leaves, and serve hot.
